1. COOKING CLASS AT 2 MICHELIN STARRED RESTAURANT IN RAGUSA IBLA On request 2. COOKING CLASS IN MODICA AND TASTING MODICAN CHOCOLATE In a 3 hours class you will cook a 3 course menu under the close supervision of Chef Davide Minerva. You will cook traditional dishes such as "Arancino" filled with grilled eggplants, ragusano cheese and horse meat; "Gnocchi with ricotta cheese and pork meat sauce"; "Orange thuile, almond cream, pistacchio and Modican chocolate". At the end of the cooking class you will enjoy your special meal. 3. BAROQUE, AROMATIC PLANTS AND CHOCOLATE Transfer to the south-east area of Sicily through the late Baroque Towns, whose heritage, both for importance and beauty, have beendeclared World Heritage by the UNESCO. The first stop will be Scicli to visit "Gli Aromi Farm" where the owner Enrico will meet us. This farm cultivates autochthon plants and aromatic herbs and holds an important leadership position in sales and marketing, focusing on local species of the Sicilian coast and in particular of the Iblean area. The farm produces more than 120 different varieties of plants and herbs using old traditional methods of manual cultivation. We will sample the different varieties of herbs and enjoy their cooking use for lunch that includes other local products. After lunch transfer to Modica that you will visit with our driver guide, admiring picturesque lanes and narrow streets with many old workshops ad the church of St. George. A visit to the Antica Dolceria Bonajuto, the oldest pastry shop of Sicily to taste the famous chocolate of Modica. The pastry Chef will explain the secrets of Modican Chocolate, that is produced with only two ingredients, cacao and sugar. 4. WINE TOUR : COS & GULFI WINERIES Departure from Ragusa area. Arrival in Vittoria to visit the Cos Winery. The estate decided to adopt the principles of biodynamic culture and this decision helped the owners find and keep a harmonious balance with nature. Fascinated by ancient cellar practices, COS decided to work with amphoras, clay jars that were used by the ancient Greeks. Winery tour and wine tasting. Transfer to Chiaramonte Gulfi to visit a second winery. Gulfi Winery preserves the land in order to what our forefathers left and taught us: over 2000 years of history, culture and hard-working. "Naturalness" characterizes their wines, which are the fruit of traditional and organic winegrowing and non-invasive vinification. Wine tasting during lunch. Visit with our driver guide Ragusa Ibla admiring picturesque lanes and narrow streets with many old workshops. Return to the Hotel. 6. VALLE DELL’ACATE & RAGUSA IBLA Departure from Ragusa area. Arrival in Acate and tour of the Valle dell'Acate Winery. The estate covers over 100 hectares and a large part of it, from 2001 to today, has been replanted with the area's top varieties and with international varieties. Valle dell'Acate is able to produce a range of prized, modern and radiant wines such as: Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOC, Moro, Frappato, Insolia, Bidis and the most recent Tanè. All these wines are obtained by selecting the best bunches during the major harvest. Light Lunch at winery and drive to Ragusa Ibla to admire with our driver guide picturesque lanes and narrow streets, with many old workshops. You will visit St. George's Church and taste typical Sicilian products at Isola nell'Isola. Return to the Hotel. 7. WILDERNESS & BAROQUE TOUR Full day "Wilderness and Baroque Tour" by Land Rover Defender. A guided tour of Ragusa Ibla, Modica and its wild canyon (World Heritage sites of the UNESCO). In Modica you will have the chance to taste the Cioccolato Modicano (chocolate of Modica), the Gelato Biscotto (ice-cream biscuit) and the Granita Siciliana. Lunch by the lake shore of Santa Rosalia.
